Progress 3

barn1 5/4/07barn2 5/4/07It’s time for more barn pictures. It has been a couple of days so you should be able to see progress. One picture was taken in the morning, the other taken near the end of the day today. The builders have been working on sheathing the roof and it has taken most of the week. The past few days have been quite windy and handling those heavy sheets of particle board 18′ up has been a bit tricky. The second floor is like a wind tunnel with both ends open like they are at the moment. Fortunately, the men work together and are there to help anchor each other to those rafters and keep from blowing clear down the hill. A good thing.

We have progress on the “shoots” part too. (I forgot to take a picture so I could post it, so you’ll just have to take my word for it for now.) The daylilies are poking out of the ground with little, bright green pokey points. Lots of other perennials and shrubs still look asleep, including the forsythia, but it is exciting to see a few things slowly awakening one by one. That means there are more to come – and that I need to get out into the garden to clear out the old growth to make room for the new.
