You wouldn’t believe how many pictures we took of these mountains. We couldn’t help it. They dominate the landscape as they thrust straight up out of the valley and somehow we kept trying to capture their magnificence, trying to get a handle on the grandeur. Our viewpoint changed as we hiked into the canyons and around the lakes but they were always there. Sometimes the peaks would disappear altogether only to surprise us as we rounded a curve in the trail. It was hard to narrow down the views I wanted to post and there are still too many here, but hopefully you will get a sense of the mountains’ ever-presence and their magnitude.
At Schwabacher’s Landing on the Snake River, a lovely spot for viewing wildlife, especially birds
At Jenny Lake there was still a significant amount of snow at the base of the mountains.

Another view from Mormon Row – remnants of the Mormon settlements in the valley
Sunrise from Mormon Row
Reflections in Jackson Lake
Shrouded peaks from Mormon Row – Can you tell this was one of our favorite places to view and photograph the mountains?
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From whence shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2

Stunning! I especially like the one with the reflection of the mountains on the lake.
Breathtaking-glad you are back and can’t wait to hear more.
Just breathtaking … Fabulous! Thanks for sharing.
